 Children's Ministry
At Indian Creek Baptist Church, we believe that parents are the primary way that children see God's love put on display. We know that there is no such thing as a "perfect" parent, we all have to trust in the Lord for our strength and wisdom when it comes to raising our kids. So one of our goals is to equip you with tools that will help teach your kids scripture, prayer, and worship. Always remember that allowing your children to see you reading your bible, praying, and worshiping is best. The mission of the Children’s Ministry at Indian Creek Baptist Church is to partner with parents to show the unconditional love of Jesus Christ to every child while teaching them godly values.
We desire to accomplish the purpose of our church in our Children’s ministry in a fun & safe environment where we: INVITE children into the kingdom of God; help them COMMIT to the Lordship of Jesus Christ; teach them to BEAR one another’s burdens; and CELEBRATE God’s goodness.
We have five programs by which we reinforce these principles:
  1. Nursery Care
  2. Small Group Bible Study (aka Sunday School)
  3. Children’s Church (aka Creation Station)
  4. AWANA (Register here)
  5. Praise Kids
  6. Special Events

Our little ones are SO important to us.  At ICBC, our nursery care is not just about providing babysitting while parents are in worship service and bible study. We begin the process of teaching them about Jesus even before they can walk and talk.  Our loving nursery volunteers share music and age-appropriate stories that introduce children to who Jesus is and what He has done.  We offer nursery care from ages birth to 3 years old during Sunday morning and evening services, as well as Wednesday activities.

 Small Groups
Small Group Bible Study (Sunday, 9:30am) is custom designed for each age level and is taught by loving teachers ready to show your children the love of God through Bible stories, classroom interactions and crafts which stimulate the child’s desire to learn more about Jesus and His love for them.
 Children's Church
Children’s Church         (Creation Station) is offered for children 3 years old through 2nd grade. This program is designed to prepare children to join “Big Church” worship service. The children start off in “Big Church” (Sunday, 10:45am) with their parents through the music and announcements, and then are dismissed, before the sermon, to a special time created for their learning level so Mom and Dad can be fed the Word without distraction. We reinforce the lesson from that morning’s Small Group Bible Study through: story-time and related activity, playing games and having a small snack.
 AWANA Clubs
AWANA Clubs (Wednesdays during school year, 6:30-8:00 pm) have a high-energy Game Time, achievement-oriented Handbook (scripture memory) Time, and Council time with a Bible message for children from 3 yrs. through 6th grade. The AWANA program provides structure and a clear path to follow as they grow in the Lord.  Our goal at ICBC is to find a way to help each child succeed. Children memorize scripture at their own pace that is challenging for them along with making new friends and having fun at the same time!
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15:
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth”(NIV)
We have three AWANA clubs at ICBC:
CUBBIES - 3 – 4 year old Preschoolers have lots of fun as they are introduced to God’s word. This club lays the foundation for making scripture a part of their lives through parent-child activities.
SPARKS - K-2nd graders use friendship building along with the gospel message to teach children about Jesus through games and introduces small peer-group interaction.
T & T (Truth & Training) - 3rd – 6th graders use discipleship and evangelism to lead children into a deeper relationship with God along with teaching them to reach out to others through mission projects.
Note: While there is a cost for participating in AWANA to cover the cost of awards, prizes and uniforms, as with any children’s ministry program, expense should not limit participation. We have scholarships available (see Commander Scott for more details).
